Science Week 2025
To begin, the children learned about different types of bridges, and discussed what makes a structure strong. They researched real-life examples of such bridges. This helped them understand that engineering is all about problem-solving and creativity.
Each pupil then became an engineer for the week. They sketched their own bridge designs, paying attention to structure, shape, and stability. Using LEGO, the children created early prototypes to test out their ideas. This hands-on exploration helped them refine their thinking before moving to the final challenge.
The highlight of the week was building the bridges using lollipop sticks, glue, and plenty of teamwork. The classroom was buzzing with collaboration as pupils constructed, tested, and strengthened their models. Some bridges focused on holding as much weight as possible, while others prioritised creative design. Every bridge told a story of imagination and engineering thinking.
Science Week was a huge success, and the children showed fantastic curiosity, resilience, and innovation. We are so proud of their efforts and the impressive bridges they created. A massive well done to all our young engineers!
