Update 30/3/2020:

Hi all,

I have set up a Google Classroom account. The log in for the class is wxjqr6c , you need a google account to log in as far as I know. Kilcoskan NS are taking part in a National Pilot Programme using digital technologies for assessment.  As part of this each child will be assigned an individual username and generic password to GSuite for Education. This will give them access to Google Apps such as Docs, Slides and Forms. It WILL NOT give them access to Google Chat or GMail. After the first login with generic password they will be prompted to choose their own private password and will be responsible for remembering this and keeping it safe. They will use GSuite for Education as an online portfolio. The portfolio can be accessed from home allowing parents an insight into their children’s learning.

I had set up an @kilcoskan.com account for each of the pupils in 1st and 2nd for a digital project that the school is taking part in, however with the closure I hadn't gotten to give out the log in details. It would be envisioned at their @kilcoskan.com account would be like a digital portfolio that they will have through the rest of their time in Kilcoskan NS. If you would like to use their @kilcoskan.com account just email me through aoife@kilcoskan.com and I will forward you on the details of your child's account. I have disabled email and other features that we would not want 1st and 2nd class to be able to use.

Let me know how you get on if there are any technical issues. I will be putting up some work for the boys and girls on Google Classroom that needs a bit more information for them to complete than I can here on the blog. It will be a mixture of science challenges, English, spellings etc As usual feel free to do as much or as little as suits your family.

Hope everyone is keeping well,

Aoife

Hi all in 1st & 2nd class,

Hope you are all keeping well. With this challenging time for parents and children we thought it might be helpful to share a list of ideas of activities for your child at this unusual time. Feel free to do as many or as little of them with your child as you deem appropriate.

If your child has completed the assigned work in their text books that I sent home on Thursday 12th please feel free to continue on with the next topic in their books. I would encourage each of the pupils to log into the Mathletics website https://login.mathletics.com/  each day. ( You will receive your child’s unique log in details from the school) I will assign different work over the coming days it covers all of the different mathematical topics.

Please feel free to contact me at aoife@kilcoskan.com if you have any questions.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back to school soon,

Teacher Aoife O’ Sullivan
