We had Liz from the Heritage Council who gave us a talk all about biodiversity in our school and particularly around the month of May. She also works for biodiversityinschools.ie , there is lots of info on their website .
Bealtaine marks the beginning of summer - a time of renewal, growth, and vibrant colour as flowers bloom and trees burst into leaf. These free visits funded by the heritage council introduce children to Irish customs, folklore, and the cultural significance of this festival.
