School reopens this Wednesday 28th Aug at the normal times!!

Welcome back to the new school year everyone. A couple of things:

If everyone can please sign up for Aladdin Connect for their child/children using the link previously sent as soon as possible. We will be using the Aladdin App as our sole form of communication moving forward and it is important that you do not miss important information and notifications. Please contact Rachel if you have any difficulties or questions.

The HSE has given some back to school health advice for this Sept which can be accessed by going into the latest news section and clicking on the file called " Back to school health advice from the HSE "

Any queries regarding the school lunches should be directed towards Rachel at 01 8351508 - one of the important things to remember is that if your child is away on holidays you should cancel the order for those days in advance.

Schools are busy places - if meetings are required with school staff please contact Rachel by phone 087 6648800, via the Aladdin app or email kilcoskansecretary@gmail.com and she will relay the message to the class teacher. The school yard is supervised from 8.50am until 9.00am and only school pupils and staff are permitted in the yard during that time.

As part of our new healthy eating policy we are introducing a new Birthday policy - each month each class will celebrate the birthdays that occurred that month with cupcakes for the class on one day. These will be provided by the teacher and no cakes/sweets from home will be allowed. We would hope that this would alleviate pressure for parents to provide treats on birthdays alongside working towards a better healthy eating policy in our school. Please note that we will operate a slightly different policy with our special class pupils.

As previously communicated, books and copy books are provided this year by the Department of Education. It will still be necessary to charge a school levy for additional items not  covered by the free scheme. These items include photocopying, arts and crafts materials, insurance, Aladdin fee and other class expenses. The fee is €100 per child payable in September. If fees are not paid people will be contacted in October regarding a payment plan. This is an essential charge and not a voluntary contribution.

School uniforms are now only available to order directly with PlayrFit on the link below. We have a very limited amount of spare items in school if you want to check with Rachel before ordering.

We have had a number of enquiries about after school childcare / pick ups for infants . Just to let you know that we have a local childcare centre called Tippytoes situated less than 1km from the school , the brochure is located in the 'policies and documents' section on this website- Click on the policies and documents tab itself to bring you to the brochure  .

Some brilliant photos of the school ( and an amazing video ) taken by a drone from the Glenveagh company are on the homepage/news section - the visit was organised to inspire children in school to have a greater interest in the STEM subjects ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths )

Dear Parents/Guardians, we are still experiencing problems with traffic and parking in the school grounds . A letter was sent home with the pupils on traffic management around the school grounds . If you require further information please contact us .
