Active Schools Week

6th Jun 2019

It’s that time of year again. Next week will be Active Schools Week. Active Schools Week is a week for our students, staff and parents to get up and get more active. The children will be asked to wear their tracksuits for the whole week (Monday 10th-14th June) and the only homework given next week will be to get active every evening.

We will be walking from the Coolquay Lodge on Monday , Tuesday , Wednesday and  Thursday morning ( Leaving at 8.50am ) and we would encourage as many students and parents to walk as possible. On Tuesday and Wednesday morning we will be having Wake Up and Shake Up activities on the yard  and we would love if parents could join in with this ( Activities may include aerobics , dancing , simple stretches … nothing too strenuous !) Starting at nine and running for about 15 minutes.  Aswell on Wednesday Enda Timoney from the GAA will be in doing handball with some of the classes and Nigel Kennedy will be doing some fun GAA activities !

There will be loads of fun active activities happening around the place during school and yard times. Please keep an eye on the school blog for any photos or updates from the week.

Sports Day

To round the week off we will be holding our Sports Day in St Margaret’s GAA Club on Friday 14th  June. We are asking all parents to arrange for their children to be dropped to the GAA club instead of school that morning for nine o’clock and to be collected from there  again at home time . Staff will be there from 8.50am to allow for usual drop off times etc. Parents are invited to join us from 1 o’clock to watch the traditional Sports Day Races and may even get a chance to participate in the parents race if they are feeling up to it . Further info will follow during the week
